Our commitment
Pokani Online is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We continually improve the user experience for everyone and apply relevant accessibility standards. We aim to conform to Level AA of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1.
Technical specifications
Pokani Online relies on the following technologies for conformance with WCAG 2.1:
- HTML5
- CSS
- WAI-ARIA
- JavaScript
Accessibility features
- Skip navigation link: A "Skip to content" link is available as the first focusable element on every page.
- Keyboard navigation: All interactive elements are accessible via keyboard. Focus order follows a logical, meaningful sequence.
- Colour contrast: Text and interactive elements meet a minimum contrast ratio of 4.5:1 against their backgrounds (WCAG AA).
- Visible focus indicators: All focusable elements display clearly visible focus rings.
- ARIA landmarks and labels: Semantic HTML and ARIA attributes are used throughout to aid screen reader navigation.
- Alternative text: All meaningful images include descriptive alt text.
- Resizable text: The site remains functional at 200% browser zoom.
- Dark mode: A high-contrast dark mode is available via toggle or system preference.
- Language attribute: The correct
langattribute is set on the HTML element for each page.
Known limitations
While we strive for full WCAG 2.1 AA conformance, placeholder design images may have limited descriptive alt text during development. We are working to provide comprehensive alternative descriptions for all design previews.
